La Prestic Ouiston
Laurence Maheo created her brand La Prestic Ouiston in 2004. Her specialty is to reinterpret vintage pieces and notably silk scarfs found from all around the world, using original patterns.
Who are you?
Laurence Maheo, stylist of La Prestic Ouiston.
How did you start in fashion?
My grand parents had a fabric boutique. It is what made me want to create clothes since I was very young. About what happened afterwards, I am completely autodidact.
How would you define your style?
I like the idea of a luxury that is hyper casual and that has a playful sensuality.
What inspires you?
First of all, fabrics. But also nature, the renewal of seasons, any flee market where I always go when I travel.
What are you most proud of?
Of managing 2 collections at the same time: the first, a collection of unique numbered pieces manufactured in our studio and the second one, an upscale ready-to-wear collection.
Where do you manufacture your products?
in Paris, Niort and in our own studio.
Where can we find your collection?
In our boutique and in the Bon marché in France...and also in Japan, Italy, Spain, USA.
If your brand was a music, a movie, a cocktail...
Chiara Mastroianni's Home album and Benjamin Biolay, L'Eclipse d'Antonioni for the spiciness of Monica Vitti and Pimm's Champagne for the cocktail.
